Painting River Rocks

Vian Studios is introducing a series of blogs about creativity in this time of quarantine and change.  Here is our first blog about artist Lisa Wolff who resides in Northern California.

Lisa started painting rocks early January on a whim. It turned into a passionate hobby that she could fully immerse herself in while sheltering at home. She has nearly 300 painted rocks she is having a hard time parting with. “To justify my large hoarding, I have started to curate collections for friends and family. I also make a daily drop to the free little library in the neighborhood, which is tucked into a tree on the way to my nature walk by the river.” Painting designs comes easy for Lisa. She has been making patterns on paper since her early teens, and as a third career later in life she studied textile design.
