Sorry, But I Like Wearing Black in the Summer

Yes, I’m that person. I’m happy to wear black all year, summer included. What’s not to like about a little black dress in the summer? I have one by Ric Owens that I bought on sale at Saks YEARS ago. So maybe there were a few years I couldn’t fit into it, but it’s happily back in rotation. Now I just need a date….. I picked up two black summer dresses for under $100. at Nordstrom this past Spring, they are chic and easy to wear. I get compliments every time I wear them. Even personal stylists and fashion designers are often missing key pieces in their wardrobes. What do I need? A pair of black shorts. I’m going to be on the hunt. Nothing that reminds me of my Bermuda shorts from the 80s though, it needs to be fresh. I did take my black jeans out of the closet until Fall, the recent “heat dome” didn't agree with them. They’ll be back soon enough—summer in Seattle is short-lived. Is there an exception? How about that bright orange T-shirt I bought in June. Where is it? I need to dig it up, it actually did bring me joy. Just not going to pair it with black though, the Halloween look is not for me.
