The Sentimental Clothes Lurking in your Closet

Oh, those sentimental items. How many do you have in your closet? Should we talk about shoes? I have gold lace-up heels from the late 80s. I eventually got them out of my closet and into my 80s bin that’s tucked away. I also put in the bin my two Jean-Paul Gaultier jackets that have shoulder pads fit for a football player. The third jacket I brought back to life a few years ago and re-tailored the shoulders. I also have Donna Karan items from her first few collections in the early 80s. They are actually timeless and I could probably take them on a resort trip if I get that lucky. What do you have lurking in your closet? Are you ready to take it out and put it somewhere else? Giving your clothes more breathing room is a win-win for the clothes and for your sanity in the morning getting dressed.

How about sentimental jewelry? I have 80s jewelry and my mom’s jewelry that I don’t wear. Those are set aside also. There’s another item I can’t seem to part with because the shoe repair can’t fix it but I’m not giving up. I’m holding out for a miracle. My Chloe boots from the 90s are scuffed and a color that can’t be refurbished. Wait, a solution, I’ll dye them black! Keep your sentimental items but find a home for them ❤️
