Thank you Ginger Rogers

I was a lucky nine year old in the 1970s. My mom, Darlene took me to the local art house movie theatre in Palo Alto to see old movies. You could choose a seat or sit in the front on giant pillows. My favorites became anything with Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire. I fell in love with the glamorous sparkly gowns that Ginger danced in. Top Hat and Gay Divorcee became my favorites. It was another world of glamour that I couldn’t imagine. My love of fashion eventually evolved into a fashion design degree and retail store where I sold my own vintage inspired designs as well vintage clothing. I’m thankful that my mom could see my dream come true to be in the fashion business. I happily made custom clothing for her while in fashion design school and afterwards. I’m not designing evening gowns anymore but my fashion designer friends are! I’ll be visiting a local boutique next week and filming a new video showcasing locally made gowns. Thank you Ginger and Darlene for bringing the inspiration.
