Please don’t buy this clothing item online…

We all do it, we shop online and then pay the price. We have to box it up and ship it back. Taking boxes to FedEx or USPS is not at the top of my fun list. There are exceptions though. I recently shopped for dresses for two clients on the east coast. Online is the only way to go when I’m working virtually. There is one item that I advise not to order online…..jeans. There are so many types of denim it’s mind-boggling. Do you want a high-rise, mid-rise, low-rise (well those aren’t really in existence anymore), cropped, full length, shredded, no stretch, some stretch, bootcut, straight or skinny? Trying them on in person is the way to go. And don’t forget about tailoring, it’s the most important thing you can do. Denim is no exception. I’d say 80% of the jeans I sell require some kind of alteration. The most common is taking in the waistband, even just a little bit makes a big difference. If you’re constantly pulling up your jeans it’s because they’re too big around the waist. And hemming, please don’t put it off, no more bunched up hems! There’s one exception to buying jeans online. if you know the brand you love and you know your size, go for it! Otherwise, do yourself a favor and go into the store to try them on and get the tailoring done while you’re there. I met a client today for a denim appointment and she bought two pairs of jeans and both are being altered in the waist and hem. The colored jeans she loved and said she would have bought if I wasn’t there. The fit was off and I couldn’t approve the purchase. We’ll find the perfect ones! Need help?
