TheT-shirt Conundrum

Nothing beats the new t-shirt that you purchased. Now comes the challenge, keeping it clean and without holes. Have you ever noticed that after 10 or so wears little holes pop up in the front? I remember the first time a client mentioned this to me, I had never noticed it! Now of course I do notice it and I’ve heard dozens of women complain about it. There are many theories such as the fabric rubs on belts or even seatbelts. Or that the zippers of your jeans are catching on the fabric during the wash. My theory is that the fabric rubs against the front closure of the jeans over and over until eventually the fabric wears out. Now comes the second question….does it matter what type of t-shirt fabric? I’ve seen holes in t-shirts in all price ranges so the quality of the t-shirt doesn’t matter. What does seem to make a difference is the weigh of the fabric. Whisper thin cotton is going to get holes before a thicker double-ply fabric. My advice? Get as many of your favorite t-shirts in rotation as possible and enjoy them while they’re new!
